Lyrik’s Institution's Summer in the City is a 4-week summer program which provides behavior modification, skills training, mentoring, community service opportunities, work experience (paid and unpaid), entrepreneurial experiences, industrial recognized certifications as well as exposure to the creative arts and workforce development. Instead of only learning in the classroom, Lyrik’s works to provide real world experiences through on and off-site internships delivered by career professionals. And, after completing the 4 week program students will participate in a Summer Getaway and Graduation.
Dates:
June 6 - July 8: 8:00am - 2:15pm
June 6 - July 1: Northeast High School and Internship Sites
July 4 - July 6: Lyrik’s Institution Summer Getaway
July 8: Culminating Event: Annual Lyrik’s Summer in the City Graduation
Lyrik’s Institution offers the following internships for high school students:
Painting/ Illustration/ Sculpting / 3D Design at The Kansas City Art Institute
Recording Engineering at The Distrikct Recording Studio
Digital Marketing with Kids Community Growing Prosperity at Northeast High School
Film and Production with Show with Show Me Film Academy at Northeast High School
Law and Legal Studies with Meyer Law Services at Northeast High School
School Leadership with Dr. Powell at Northeast High School
Daily Schedule
8:00 am - 10:00: Power Moves - Personal Development (Life Skills, Soft Skills, Workforce Development, Behavior Modification) at Northeast High School
10:00 am - 10:30 am: Lunch at Northeast High School
10:30 am- 11:15 am: Transportation to Internships from Northeast High School for offsite interns
11:15 am - 1:30 pm - Real World Experience Training
1:30 pm - 2:15 pm: Transportation from Internships back to Northeast High School for Dismissal
2:20 pm - Dismissal
