Power Moves: The Shark Tank Student Registration
About the Event
Are you interested in competing in a Shark Tank styled competition with a grand prize of $1000, media coaching, and a news segment with KCTV 5?
Lyrik’s Institution is hosting Power Moves: The Shark Tank for innovative youth who want to be future entrepreneurs. The competition is open to current 8th-12th grade students who can apply as either an individual or as part of a team with a maximum of three members.
Entries will be judged on the following criteria, which will hold equal weight:

The business development sessions presented by Black Excellence – KC (BXKC) are held on Wednesdays from 5:00 pm- 6:30 pm at Jamison Memorial Temple (3115 E Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64128 ) from Wednesday, March 23, 2022, to Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
*All participants will receive: Business development training, mentoring, public speaking coaching, and networking opportunities with a variety of entrepreneurs. *
Prizes:
*First Prize*: The first-prize winner will receive *$1,000*, media coaching, and a news segment with KCTV 5 - Representation Matters
*Second Prize*: Business Promotion on Lyrik’s Institution, BXKC, and participating partners networks
*Third Prize*:Two sessions with a Business Consultant to further develop the participants business plans and goals
The date, time, and location for The Shark Tank presentations and judging will be announced.

- Project innovation
- Visual appeal or design
- Relevance and importance to the business industry
- Viability as a business (customer/market analysis and competitors)
- Quality of the project presentation
Eligibility:
- The competition is open to youth 13-19 years old (8th to 12th grade).
- Youth may compete as individuals or as teams of no more than 3 youth.
- Youth must be currently enrolled in school.
- Youth must be Jackson County Residents.
- Youth must attend a minimum of 4 business development sessions with Lyrik’s
- Institution and BXKC at Jamison Memorial Temple.
